Trains from London take about 2 hours and from Edniburgh about 2.5 hours. By car from the South: A1(M) to A64, take A1036 York (West). Follow signs to city centre. Go straight ahead passing the York racecourse on right. Through several sets of traffic lights. As you reach the top of the hill go through the traffic lights at the junction with Dalton Terrace, and turn right at the next set of lights on to Scarcroft Road.
